Here are some effective home remedies to get relief from common cold:
  • Drinking plenty of water and staying well hydrated is the best home remedy for common cold.
  • Add juice from one half of a lemon to warm water. Add a tsp of honey to add and drink it to get relief from cold. Drink this every 4-6 hours for good relief. Lime juice also works instead of lemon juice.
  • Ginger is another wonderful remedy for colds and coughs. Grate ginger and add it to boiling water. Simmer for 5 minutes. Strain the liquid and add honey to it. Drinking this 2 to 3 times a day provides good relief for common cold.
  • Turmeric is an excellent remedy for cold. Add 2-3 pinches of turmeric powder to warm milk and drink before going to bed to get good relief from cold.
  • Adding Pepper powder to a teaspoon of honey and make a thick paste and swallowing it also helps with common cold.
  • Steam inhalation provides immediate relief for common cold especially if you have a stuffy nose. Take boiling water and add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to it. Cover your head with a blanket and inhale in the steam. this provides immediate relief and unblocks the stuffy nose.
  • Drink Peppermint tea or Chamomile tea also provides relief from common cold.
